OverviewPhase 1 of the Implementable Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Chautauqua and Village of Mayville has focused on public and stakeholder engagement to identify key community issues that will form the plan’s foundation. The Steering Committee worked with consultants Pashek+MTR, Lisa Schmidtfrerick-Miller and Nichola Ostrander to develop and deliver outreach in a variety of ways. This phase also included the committee’s work to interpret and prioritize themes and framing them as problems that the community can make progress addressing within the next decade. This sets the stage for the next step in the planning process: Phase 2 will involve strategy development and devising detailed, practical action plans for implementation. This document provides a summary of input across various forms of public participation and a summary of current thinking from the consulting team and steering committee about the Key Issues around which this plan will be built.
